SATURDAY Q & A

NOTE:  This article was from the Family Life and Marriage Bible by Dennis and Barbara Rainey.

Question #1.  What does my husband most need from me to know that my love for him is real?

Answer #1.  Two words:  unconditional acceptance.

I remember  when I first realized Dennis was not like my father.

My dad was Mr. Fix-it.

He was in charge of maintenance at a large steel plant, and at home he could do anything.

He loved making repairs, painting, tinkering on the car.

Dennis, on the other hand, declared that, “If you can’t fix something with baling wire and gray tape, you should throw it away and get a new one.”

He preferred to spend his spare time watching sports.

In those early days, Dennis would plop in his easy chair in front of the television, and I would circle him like a vulture, hinting how I felt he could better use his time.

Dennis and I have come a long way.

He’s still not Mr. Fix-it, but he tries.

And somewhere along the way he learned to enjoy gardening so he could spend time with me.

I’ve learned an important lesson—the importance of loving my husband unconditionally.

I need to receive Dennis as a gift from God.

And I need to remember that God is working in his life.

NOTE:  Daily there is a new post to help your marriage be a success.
